Green Burial

Your final act is giving back to the earth.

A positive impact on the environment:  giving back organic material to the earth,
preserving the land and creating a nature-friendly space.

About Us

Mandate:
Green Burial Ottawa Valley is an incorporated not-for-profit co-op that advocates for wider access to green burial through Community based initiatives and education.

We are ardent advocates for community-based deathcare

We do not provide funeral services.
We do not own or operate a cemetery.
We are not celebrants.
We are not an emergency service.
If you are in immediate need,  please contact a funeral home in your local area, letting them know you want a green burial.

Goals:

  • Build public awareness of and demand for natural burial.
  • Encourage local existing funeral services and cemeteries to offer access to natural burial and associated services.
  • Encourage local community-based deathcare initiatives.
  • Democratize knowledge gained by GBOV members, to encourage the establishment of other natural burial sites, hybrid or dedicated, through information sessions, and GBOV website.

Green Burial Ottawa Valley was incorporated as a non-profit co-operative in 2019.
